We Love Democracy: Youth Civic Engagement
About this event
On Saturday, Feb. 14 from 2-4pm, young people representing youth-oriented organizations will discuss the future of our democracy at the League of Women Voters of Santa Barbara’s first community forum of 2026. "We ?? Democracy: Youth Civic Engagement," will be held in the theater at Girls Inc., 4973 Hollister Avenue, Santa Barbara.
A panel will be made up of youths representing the following organizations: Girls Inc of Greater Santa Barbara, Girl Scouts of California Central Coast, The Fund for Santa Barbara's Youth Making Change, and Future Leaders of America. Sarah Weber, UCSB student and our League of Women Voters of Santa Barbara Youth Liaison, will also participate in the conversation. The forum will be moderated by LWVSB Board member Daniel Gonzales.
The goal of the forum is to build connections between the League and these valued youth-focused organizations to engage, inform, and activate our members and communities, particularly concerning the importance of voting and civic participation. We hope this event will seed a variety of collaborative activities for a busy 2026 given the midterm elections and all that is at stake in our communities.
