Voting Information for Students

Am I eligible to vote?

You may register to vote if you:

• are a citizen of the United States,
• are a resident of California,
• will be at least 18 years of age as of the date of the next election,
• are not currently serving a state or federal prison term for the conviction of a felony, and
• have not been found mentally incompetent to vote by a court.

Register to vote online at https://covr.sos.ca.gov/.

If you are under 18, you can pre-register to vote if you meet the following qualifications:

• You are a citizen of the United States,
• You are a resident of California,
• You are not in prison or on parole for the conviction of a felony, and
• You are at least 16 years of age.

Special Situations:

Are you a college student living away from home? You may register at your college residence address (on or off campus) or at your permanent home address, but only at one of these places; see more information.

Mark your calendar - we will need many volunteers to sign up to help us register and pre-register students at high schools in Santa Barbara, Goleta, and Carpinteria.
